Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League Unveils Champions Trophy

Edmonton, AB – The Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League unveiled today the trophy that will be presented to the 2008 league champion and serve as the symbol of CMISL supremacy in future.
The trophy’s black base is comprised of three tiers with a silver “C.M.I.S.L. Champions” plaque attached to the upper-most tier. A silver and black No. 5 soccer ball sits atop the wooden base.
The base footprint measures 10” x 10” and the trophy measures 161/2” in height. Crafted by Columbia Awards of Edmonton, the CMISL championship trophy has an overall weight of eight and a half pounds.
As the top two seeds in the CMISL standings, the Edmonton Drillers and Calgary United FC will compete for the trophy in the one-game, winner-take-all league championship game March 14 at St. Albert’s Servus Place.
