Edmonton Wins CMISL Canadian Division Championship

3/8/09 - The Edmonton Drillers continued their string of positive results over Calgary United in the CMISL with a 7-6 overtime victory on Sunday in Calgary. The victory was the 5th in as many games, and earned the Drillers a trip to Stockton for the North American finals next weekend.

2/27/09 -EDMONTON 6 CALGARY 5 (OT)
EDMONTON 4 CALGARY 3 (Game 2)

The Edmonton Drillers clinched the regular season title with a doubleheader sweep of Calgary United, 6-5 in OT and 4-3. The road to the PASL-Pro Championship Weekend, however, still goes through Calgary.

The Drillers will head to Calgary for the CMISL single elimination playoff on March 8.

Edmonton (8-3) finished 4-0 against Calgary (8-7), but all four games were decided by one goal.

PASL-Pro Gamenight (February 26)

2/26/09 - MONTERREY 11 SASKATOON 3

The Monterrey La Raza claimed the 2009 Copa America title with very little drama dispatching the Saskatoon Accelerators 11-3 at Arena Monterrey.

The teams were tied at 1-1 well into the second quarter, but Monterrey surged ahead 4-1 at halftime, a lead that grew to 7-1 in the third quarter and Saskatoon never threated to get back into the game.

PASL-Pro Gamenight (February 22)

2/22/09 - SASKATOON 18 WENATCHEE 2

In a weekend they would like to forget, but will probably remember the rest of their lives, the shorthanded Wenatchee Fire took an 18-2 drubbing on the chin this afternoon at Credit Union Centre.

The victorious Saskatoon Accelerators actually came in as the lowest scoring team in the PASL-Pro and CMISL, but were led by Jordan Schidlowsky’s six goals.

Wenatchee was outscored 40-4 in their two game Canadian road trip.

2/21/09 - CALGARY 22 WENATCHEE 2

With only four points separating the three teams in the CMISL, Calgary United built a substantial amount of momentum leading into the final three games of the season by dismantling the Wenatchee Fire 22-2 on Saturday night in Calgary.

Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon could all be in the playoffs!

What an exciting finish it will be to close out the CMISL season!

With the playoff picture still unclear there is a possibility all three Canadian teams could make the playoffs this year.



ACCELERATORS SPLIT DOUBLE HEADER WITH CALGARY FC

Game One: Calgary 4, Saskatoon 3

The Saskatoon Accelerators played well enough to win both ends of the double header but came away with a win and a loss against Calgary FC on Saturday night at the Credit Union Centre.

In game one the Accelerators maintained the lead until less than two minutes to go when Calgary pulled their goalkeeper for a 6th attacker and tied the match at 3. Then with 43 seconds remaining Calgary scored the winner.

For the second time this season the Edmonton Drillers have traveled to Calgary United and come away with full points in PASL action. The 10-9 Driller victory on Saturday had huge playoff implications in the Canadian division, and was a letdown for United, who were fresh off a successful road trip to Wenatchee and Stockton .



Accelerators Once Again Split Double-header against the Drillers

Edmonton (03/1/09)

Game One – The Saskatoon Accelerators made it 2 in a row over the Edmonton Drillers of the CMISL when they once again split a double-header in Alberta this week-end. The Accelerators totally dominated play in game 1 of the double-header by posting a 7 - 4 victory. Jerson Hamilton chipped in 2 goals while Chris Devlin had 4 assists for the Accelerators in their victory.
